<p>Let&#8217;s look at some dieting basics.  What is dieting?  It is the selection, or limitation, of food you eat to reach a goal.  These goals can be to lose weight, gain weight, improve health or enhance your physical condition.  Of course when choosing a plan to follow you want to know about <strong>diets that work</strong>.  Most often when someone is &#8220;on a diet&#8221; it is to lose weight.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Medifast is a meal replacement diet program.  The most popular program that Medifast offers is called Medifast 5 &amp; 1 Plan.  This plan consists of 5 meal replacements that are low in calories and fat and then 1 &#8220;lean and green&#8221; meal on your own that should have vegetables, salad and a lean protein.  When eating out you should count that meal as the 1 on your own and stick to the guidelines of the lean and green meal.  Calories consumed per day are only 800-1000 per day and the meal replacements contain high amounts of vitamins.  In the past this plan was prescribed by a doctor but is now available through distributors or online.</p>
<p>This diet plan boasts of easy weight loss that does not consist of counting calories or points.  You just need to order the meals and snacks as well as plan your meal on your own.  The 5 meals can be rotated between a number of choices which include chili, scrambled eggs, shakes, pudding, fruit drinks, soups, iced teas, hot drinks, oatmeal, bars and stew.</p>
